Hey all,
I have been reading many articles and news feeds ever since the news broke that Mike Tyson was getting his own show on animal planet about pigeon racing and I have noticed that some people have been bad mouthing the sport, pigeons and fanciers not to name names (PETA). They have been saying all sorts of things like pigeons are dirty, fanciers mistreat their birds, animal cruelty and so on and so forth. It’s obvious to me that they don’t know this sport and hobby at all nor do they know us fanciers.
So I figured who better to clear our name then US! we have a great group of fanciers here on the www.pigeonracingpigeon.com blog. So post your comments below and tell the rest of the world what pigeon racing really is all about and who we fanciers really are. Tell them how much you love your pigeons and how pigeon racing is a wholesome hobby that involves the entire family, promotes bonding and responsibility just to name a few.
So go ahead and post your comments here and let’s set them straight.

Why is everybody complaining about. He is doing something that SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE A LONG TIME AGO BY THE IF & AU We pay dues to organizations that does NOTHING to show people how nice the sport is and the love we have for our pigeons.

The city I live in has banned keeping pigeons in the city limits so to do so you would be be fined for breaking the bylaw and ordered to remove your birds and loft.
There are fewer feral pigeons each year which are probably descended from or are domestic pigeons. Yet they want Falcons and other raptors to survive in our locale I wonder what they think raptors feed on. We know when keeping pigeons we may lose a few not returning to the loft getting lost joining feral pigeons or taken by raptors. Feral pigeons are part of the natural cycle as their numbers decrease so will the birds that feed on them. This is an environmental issue that they don’t seem to be able to see. So what are these groups thinking about this or are they against this as well. Extremists interfering with our lives and life style is against our right of freedom and would not be allowed on a different issue. What are the national pigeon groups doing in this area and should we be contacting them on this issue?

on january 2010 i have a sinior heart attack .i have no mare times but now i am well and i think the reason is with my family & friends my pigeons is also pray for me.
in hospital my family tells your pigeon is well & my friend is care of pigeons .pigeon is my first love &life.
Hi Chris I really enjoy the sport all the info you share with the rest of the world is very important for the beginner,because all pigeon fanciers love their pigeons and will never mistreat them.We spend a lot of money on our pigeons for their health and diet to keep them in good condition,so that they be able to be good athletes.We name them,love them like they are family because they are part of the family.

you know i cant believe there are some idiots out there who still say these a dirty sport i guess fighting dogs is a good thing ha ha incredible all my family enjoys my birds and just for thekick the first babies this year i named after some of my family members na d they constatnly ask me about there bird this sport brings a lot of people together and not only that but anywhwre that i go and the topic comes up about animals i get into my pigeon talk and next thing you know those people are hanging on every word i say thay did not know pigeons could do this or do that tehy all seem amazed the only thing that i wish we would do more as pigeon lover (which ive been called a few times)is to let a a a lot more people know about this great sport some folks dont even konw that still exist today

i don’t know what to do with it ? i’m afraid the cats of which there are many in my neighborhood.. will get to it. it stays in our yard. i feed it seed everyday along with water. i can’t keep it.. it won’t go away. does anyone want it ? i live in paramount, CA very near long beach, CA…. please e-mail me.. thanks
