Great publicity for racing pigeon sport.
I was glad to see Pigeon Racing getting air time, but I thought it was a particularly poorly produced segment re: story board, video and directing/editing. I was also disappointed honestly to see that although Mike has been a pigeon guy since 10 yrs old, he still seems to know very little about birds. That is the result of NOT having the advantage of an education, literacy and the ability to study the subject. On the other hand, the fact that Tyson has loved pigeons all his life STILL makes me feel fellowship and fondness for him. Go get em Mike!
Gregory, nothing personal but are you some kind of a tv critic or an expert in producing a show? Remember this a reality tv show shot over a sixmonth period, unscripted and edited to fit in a six episode miniseries. Yes, I did notice some discrepencies pertaing to training and releasing the birds. They cannot fit every detail of the show, and they have to let some drama and controvery arise. Also, are you implying that Mike is illiterate? Mike was a prodigal boxer at an early age and that was all he did in the majority of his life, so he probably did not have much time to get a higher learning perhaps like you. He is quite eloquent when he speaks and he may not hold a Phd. in education but he is an articulate and intelligent person. He may be a rookie in pigeon racing but he is knowledgeable about pigeons in general. You don’t have to be educated to be intelligent. Anyway, I think you still have class by ending your comments in a tasteful way.
yes Chris I did. I thought it was done well. The only problem I saw was they kept going back to Mikes tough guy problems, which took you away from the birds at times. This is something we need the public to understand, we love these birds of ours,and in most cases keep better care of them than we do ourselves.Those PETA fools need to get a life, I see Gulf coast whipped them.

i realy didnt like it thought he was trying to stess his boxing carrier .not to take any thing from his boxing,but i thought the sho was on pigeons,NOT BOXING,if its like that this week we probly wont watch anymore
Hey Terry I think they were just doing that because it was the first episode and it shows how he found his love for pigeons. I think they also did that to show that pigeons were his escape from the world. Now that the foundation is out of the way I’m sure their gonna focus on pigeons. However not everyone is interested in pigeons so I’m sure their gonna continue to play on mikes persona because that’s what will bring non-fanciers in, they wanna see what Mikes up to theses days. In my opinion and thanks for posting.
i was really looking 4wrd to seeing it after watching the previews on youtube, but unfortunately it has not been shown on animal planet here in Belgium & when i try watching an episode on youtube it doesnt work due to copyright laws or whatever in this region! boo hoo! 🙁
i saw it and i thought that it made the sport look like only street thugs like Tyson and other known wise guys are in to the sport which is not true.
When they trained Tyson’s birds for the fist time the guy who took them cut them louse to quickly, when your training young birds for the fist time 1-you keep them hungry and 2-them you let them seat in the create for a few so that they can look around then you cut them louse. if those birds where hungry they would have hit the platform and went in to the coup a lot quicker. also you never allow guys to hang out on your roof when racing or training. That guy Vinny knows better then this, he should have shown these guys what to do and how to release the birds.

I would have loved to watch the show but don’t have sky tv.NZ TV is unlikely to put the show on because pigeon racing isn’t a big sport here.
I liked the show and pland on watching all 6 shows.
The photography of the raceing birds in flight was realy nice to see. Good job!
Great show! A show like this can help viewers to see that our birds are not just flying rats. They are beautiful and intelligent creatures that can bring peace of mind and real joy to those of us who love this hobby and sport. There will still be those who will poke fun and make negative comments because it’s Tyson, and because they don’t understand our love for pigeons. But if they would shut up and watch they might learn something. Besides, it takes someone like Mike Tyson (a controversial celebrity) to even get producers to consider putting a show like this on the air. So, thank you Iron Mike! I have my DVR set to record every episode.
