Ahhhhhh Eyesign!!!…..
it’s one of the biggest debates in our sport. Some absoluely love it and think it’s the best way of evaluating their birds and some absoluetly hate it and think it’s nothing but myth.

I have to laugh at most of the replys here on eyesign. They either love it or they don’t. Guys eyesign is not a show all as some believe. It is just one of many things that facter into a good bird. A good bird will have good eyesign, a balanced body, good feathers, good coverage of the feathers, and just look the part of a champion. I have had pigeons now for 34 years. You will not raise all champions even if you have the best birds in the world. Only a fool would believe that. There are things that we can’t see with our eyes. The birds intelligence, it’s love for it’s home, and the ability to go home non-stop. All we can do is work with the knowledge that is available to us as fanciers and find what works for us and our birds.
the only eyesign that one can and should depend upon and have great faith in is that the pigeon has two(2) eyes and that there be no defects relative to ability to see. eyesign as a science in the pigeonworld otherwise is alot of myth and hocus pocus.. there is no correlation otherwise relative to a bird,s ability as a first class flyer.. don reid m..d.
maybe it will help if your bird has a good eyesign but i dnt think it is enough reason to win races, tender loving care for your bird, good feeding program, good training and then eyesign will move in, pigeon racing is a whole package…
Well to me if everyone buys into the eye sign, everyone will only buy racers with that type of eye. So the gentlemen who’s bird won some big races had this eye sign.So naturaly his whole loft has this eye sign since they are all related. So everyone wants to buy his birds now.Soon everyone’s birds will have this eye sign.Than one day a bird with a peral or bullet eye will win a big race & than everyone will be wanting to buy birds with peral or bullet eyes.Training & diet & health are the keys to sucess.
EVERY CHAMPION PIGEON HAVE 5 CIRCLES IN HIS EYE.A PIGEON THAT ONLY FLYING BACK HOME HAS NOT 5 CIRCLES IM PAIRING UP MY STOCK BIRDS BY THE EYES.IM RACING PIGEONS FOR THE LAST 39 YEARS. IVE MADE A STUDY ON THE EYES OF CHAMPIONS THAT I CAN HANDLE IN SOUTH AFRICA FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS AND IVE CAME TO A CONCLUSING THAT EVERY CHAMPION HAVE 5 CIRCLES IN HIS EYE.YOU CAN ALSO LOOK THE DISTANCE THAT A PIGEON CAN RACE IN HIS EYE, IF ITS A SHORT, MIDDLE OR LONG DISTANCE PIGEON.
What Chris is saying has some merrit, and I believe we as fanciers all have our own theory about what works for us.I personally do not only use the eye sign theory but rather the “motor”
throat theory to make my final selection, and this method has worked very well for me,I have found that my good racers with a 9 or 10 motor ,has a good eye sign as well.
I must add I have found some one time winners with neither of these good trates. These birds I do not breed off at all ,and cull them after racing.

eyesign is just only the sign. test your birds and see the real sign.
Eyesign is one of the most controversial topics ever in racing pigeons. That is because it is total non-sense! If it was that simple to determine the quality of a racing pigeon by closely examining it’s eye, everybody (especially the rich fanciers) will have only quality birds in their lofts and win all the races. “If you are trying to obtain quality birds, watch the eyes of the seller and not that of the pigeon” is the advice of one of the most successful European flyers and writers … Ad Schaerlaeckens of Belgium/Holland. www/schaerlaeckens.com/
Eyesign as described by this site only add to the argument that the theory is simply hocus pocus. Whereas it is absolutely scientifically based and can be found in a paper produced by the Uni of Arizona. There is no such thing as a breeding eye simply an eye that possesses features that are rare / hard to find and therefore passes these desirable features to the eyes of their young. I have asked repeatedly for a refund as per the 100% guarantee and have not been given the courtesy of either the refund or a reply.
I like odd eyed birds ….. any color …… I think it’s wicked , I wish I had 1 brown and 1 green eye 🙂 … I have birds with many different eye colors – I prefer orange but whatever performs works for Me !! ~ Mike
