Hello Pigeon Racing World,
I just wanted to introduce myself; my name is Chris I created The Pigeon Insider to share my pigeon racing passion with the world, and to share my passion with the rest of the pigeon community.
MyStory,
I personally got interested in pigeons a few years back, my uncle had a pigeon loft and as a kid he used to keep pigeons on the rooftop in brooklyn NY, after moving upstate he built a loft in his backyard and this is where I was first introduced to the world of pigeons. To be completly honest with you I really didn’t understand anything about it and I didn’t even see what he liked about it. Anyway a few months later he purchased a bird from Oklahoma and put it into his loft, about three days later he opened the door to the loft to feed his pigeons and the bird he just bought from oklahoma escaped. About one week later the breeder that he bought the bird off of called my uncle up and said “didn’t I sell you a bird” and he recited the band number my uncle responded “yea but he escaped from my loft last week” and the breeder said “well…he’s back!”
After escaping from my uncles loft in NY, the pigeon flew all the way back to oklahoma! I was completely floored and my passion for pigeons was born. Not only could I not beleive that the pigeon flew that far but it actually found his way all the way home. I was hooked from that moment on.
They really are amazing creatures I know first hand and that is why The Pigeon Insider was created. Please feel free to check out the site and comment we would really love to hear from you.
My Goal,
The goal of The Pigeon Insider is to help preserve and promote the pigeon racing sport and hobby as well as bringing awarness to the general public. I also hope that this site will help to educate pigeon fanciers. I haven’t been involved in pigeon racing for that long so I still have alot to learn but one of my favorite things to do is talk with champion and successfull fanciers which I have had the pleasure of doing and sharing what I learn from them along the way with the rest of you.
Again, my name is Chris and I look forward to meeting and hearing from you fellow pigeon fanciers, please feel free to contribute to this blog by commenting and posting I would really love to hear from you.
Thanks for visiting,
-Chris (Contact Me)

Good job Chris 🙂
This is the first time I came across this sight and I’m glad I did.
I used to fly racing pigeons about 11 years ago. Now I want to start again. This time I want to start with a big bang with my brother’s son in law in South Africa. I live now in England.
What really annoy me when breeders let father mate with daughter, uncle with cousin, etc… just to keep the strain. I will never ever buy any pigeon from them as all has a weak of everything in such a pigeon.
In England after I’ve build my small racing and breeding loft, I set out to buy just one racing pigeon per loft. These lofts stretched cross channels apart. One in Bristol, one in Aberdeen, one in Zoersel, Belgium, one in Berlin, one in Bucharest, one in Manila, One in Pretoria, one in Dubai, one in Perth and one in Pingtung, Taiwan.
From these I cross breed only according to my strict rules of which I do not waver from. The 2 breeding pair of racing pigeons has no relation to one another at all. Boy o Boy those youngsters has won me racers that the old guns jaws drop. So because of that I gained today my brother’s son in law who in turn also win races with his pigeons.
All I need now is to buy a farm here in England.
Hi, Chris
I,m glad to find your site it is one of the best pigeon sites
in the world, and so informative….Thanks

Well Chris, I must hand it to you. This site is the most informative site I have found on Racing Pigeons, to date. Not only is it informative, but is commercial free, a bonus. Love everthing pertaining to Racing Pigeons, however, having been a Champion many times, I am not at all interested in all the commercial Pigeon men, thier winnings or thier pedigrees. It is nice to sit down and read a site that deals with the aspects of Pigeon Racing in all categories, without someone trying to tell me how wonderful either they are or thier Pigeons are. There is many a good Pigeon Man and there is many a good Pigeon. Without knowledge, however, one may never attain either. Thank you for bringing this site to people that still want to learn about Racing Pigeons intelligently. Keep up the good work.
Chris,
my name is Robert J Wszolek. i got started back in the late seventies. my father started me but due too his promotions it only lasted a year. i kept some fancy breeds here and there throgh out the years. i want to get into racing the 2012 season yb.i was wondering if you can send some beginers insight articals or even past ones. also if you have any info on J.W.Logan and his strain. i read many great reviews on your sight so i thought i woud sign up. thanks and look forward to your writings.

Chris-
Your website is awesome! In the pigeon fancy we find a wide diversity of knowledge, some scientific, some experientially based observation, some based on superstition and tribal lore. Having a far reaching venue to share questions and answers is a wonderful gift. I’m looking forward to the day when I’ll be able to upload microscopic photos of blood or spore samples to share with experts who care enough to share their educated opinions on health issues. I have recently done two extremely successful surgeries and two necessary autopsies (not the same birds mind you!) I took detailed photos I’d love to share with you.
Respectfully yours,
